Research and Survey

Open and transparent sharing of data and research creates less hierarchy and more dialogue, inclusion, and empowerment. Institutional transformation requires  such open and transparent data.

Many institutions will position a focus on racial equity and justice in competition to the university's search for true design pedagogy. EGDE is committed to sharing compelling stories embedded in qualitative and quantitative data to eliminate  institutional power  imbalance and substantiate student and alumni efforts demanding institutional transformation.

In partnership with Design as Protest Student Organizing (DAP-SO), our initial internal research comprises of a brief survey to catalogue the responses from academic institutions. Responses to the survey will be used to record and compare strategies from various institutions and develop an index for student organizing and progress. Student and alumni engaged in collective defiance should complete the survey and share broadly with your networks.

Take the DAP x EGDE Actions Survey  here.

We look forward to sharing our findings with you at several upcoming events! Follow us on Twitter @emergentgrounds and on Substack for details.
